Joni Alberg, PhD, is an independent consultant in parent support for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Her expertise is in providing emotional, information and technical support to parents as they navigate the journey they begin when they learn their child is deaf or hard of hearing. She has experience working with service providers at the early intervention, elementary and secondary school levels.
Renee Polanco Lucero
Renee Polanco Lucero, PhD, LSLS Cert. AVEd
Renee Polanco Lucero, Ph.D., LSLS Cert. AVEd is an assistant professor at Utah State University and worked as a teacher of the Deaf for 15 years, in early intervention, the classroom, and as an itinerant teacher. Her primary interests are in working with culturally and linguistically diverse families and the implementation of LSL interventions in the school setting.
Djenne-amal N. Morris
Djenne-amal N. Morris, BA
Djenne-amal N. Morris, BA, brings passion, humor and real life experience to her role as national parent/professional trainer, facilitator and motivational speaker whose view of the world not as it is, but as it could be. As a mother of an amazing son with CHARGE Syndrome she strives to build an atmosphere of support and empowerment for families of children with special needs and the professionals who serve them. This has led to her career working with families of with children with special needs in various roles as Women’s Ministry Leader, Family Specialist for the New England and North Carolina Deaf-Blind Projects, Parent Educator/Training Coordinator at BEGINNINGS for Parents of Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and current Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Hands & Voices.
Mike Twohig
Michael Twohig, PhD
Michael P. Twohig, Ph.D. is a Professor of Psychology at Utah State University and a licensed psychologist in Utah. His work focuses on the development and testing of psychological interventions. He has an interest in helping audiologists provide the best patient care possible, and at times that includes addressing client’s emotional issues.
